ASG Star Party

Weather permitting, the Astronomical Society of Greenbelt will host a star party at the City of Greenbelt Observatory on Saturday evening, August 6, starting at 9:30 pm. We’ll be using the observatory’s 14-inch telescope to view some of the many objects currently high in the sky, including the moon, which will be waxing gibbous.
All are welcome, whether Astronomical Society of Greenbelt members or not. Visitors are encouraged to set up their own telescopes on the hilltop in front of the observatory. In accordance with Prince George County guidelines, masks are not required.
We encourage people to attend the star party in person, but we will also be simulcasting images from the observatory telescope in real time via Zoom.
