SUMMARY:Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Astronomical Society of Greenbelt will hold its monthly meeting on March 27 at 7:30 PM in room 114 of the Greenbelt Community Center and online. In honor of Women’s History Month\, Dr. Corinne (Cory) Carter will be making a presentation about historical women in the Earth sciences. These range from a 17th-century geologist to women who got their jobs when the men were away fighting World War II. The Zoom link will be posted on the calendar of the Astronomical Society website before the meeting. \nThe events are held at the Greenbelt Community Center. We encourage visitors to attend in person\, although we will also broadcast the talk on Zoom. Come back a few days before the meeting to see how to join the Zoom meeting. We begin the meetings at 7:00 pm with informal conversation. The presentation begins at 7:30 pm. \nThe presentations are free and open to the public. \nPer our insurance requirements\, anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
